Superhero 5k Volunteer Form Volunteer for the Superhero 5k Thank you for volunteering for our Inaugural Apple A Day Superhero 5k! We could not do this without our amazing volunteers. Volunteer shifts will be starting early morning (7 am) and ending after the race (early/mid afternoon). Please plan to be available during these times if you sign up for a station. Not only do we love our volunteers, but we LOVE when groups come out! Show your group/organization/company spirit by coming out together. Any! Check In/Bib Number DistributionBe the first face our participants see! Duties include organizing/handing out shirts, assisting runners with finding their bib number, greeting participants with smiles and event guides, answering questions/providing race information. Position requires some light lifting up to 30 lbs. Aid StationThis is a great role for groups. This key role is not just about providing hydration support — but moral support and excitement! Duties include setting up the station, filling and stacking cups with water, restocking cups, handing beverages to runners & walkers and finally cleaning up the area when the last runner passes. Getting wet and standing is required for this position. Refreshment StationThis is a great group role! Duties include handing out snacks and water to participants pre and post race. Standing is required. Cheer StationGreat for Groups! Be a key player in keeping the excitement and momentum going on course. Paint your faces, wear silly clothes — wear your team colors, make banners and posters with silly sayings. Duties include being positive, cheering, encouraging racers and making the race FUN! Standing is required for this position. Crowd ControlThe runners are happy to be done. Some are waiting for their friends/family to cross but we need to keep the area flowing smoothly. Duties include keeping runners moving efficiently through the chute and directing runners to the post-race area where they can wait for loved ones. Standing is required for this position. Tear Down CrewGreat for groups! When it is all said and done, and we have to say good-bye to our great event until next year, we need volunteers to help tear down the start/finish line area. Standing, bending, lifting 25-50 lbs, getting dirty are all required. Feel free to check as many as you're interested in - we'll station you at the one you're needed at most!
